Microgreens FAQ

❓ What are microgreens, exactly?

Microgreens are young edible greens harvested just after the first true leaves develop. They’re packed with flavour, nutrients, and colour—perfect for topping meals, boosting smoothies, or just eating fresh. Think of them as the energetic, flavour-rich cousins of full-grown vegetables.

❓ How do I use microgreens?

Simple: rinse, sprinkle, and eat!
Add them to salads, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, soups, or eggs. They’re also great as a fresh garnish on top of cooked meals—think of them as the finishing touch that makes everything taste (and look) better.

❓ Are microgreens actually healthy?

Absolutely. Studies show microgreens can contain 4–6 times more nutrients than their mature vegetable versions. They're naturally rich in vitamins A, C, E, K, and antioxidants that support energy, immunity, and overall health—all in just a small handful.

❓ How long do microgreens last?

Our microgreens are harvested fresh to order and delivered quickly, so they typically last 5–7 days in your fridge if stored properly.
Keep them in their packaging, store them in the fridge, and avoid squashing them under a sack of yesterday’s potatoes for best results.

❓ Do I need to wash them before eating?

We recommend giving them a quick rinse under cool water, just like you would with any fresh produce.
They're grown naturally and handled carefully, but it's always good to give anything leafy a little shower before you eat it.

❓ Where do you deliver?

Right now, we deliver across the SG8 and SG19 areas (Cambridgeshire and surrounding villages).
If you're just outside the area, feel free to get in touch—we’ll see what we can do!

❓ How often do you deliver?

We harvest and deliver once a week to make sure your greens are fresh, lively, and full of flavour.
You’ll receive your order within a day of harvest—no week-old salad bags here.

❓ Can I subscribe for regular deliveries?

Yes!
You can sign up for a regular subscription box and have fresh greens delivered to your door each week. Easy, predictable, delicious. Plus, you’ll get first access to special mixes and seasonal extras when they’re available.

❓ Do you grow your microgreens with chemicals or sprays?

Nope.
We grow the natural way: real soil, clean water, fresh air. No pesticides, no weird sprays, no synthetic shortcuts.

Just honest plants doing what they do best.

❓ Are your seeds and supplies from the UK?

Yes!
We use UK-sourced seeds and growing materials whenever possible to keep things local and high-quality.

❓ Can I buy microgreens as a gift for someone else?

Absolutely.
Fresh food is the ultimate gift.
Get in touch with us if you want to arrange a one-off delivery or a special gift subscription.

❓ I run a restaurant/café. Can you supply us?

Yes!
We offer custom-grown microgreens for chefs, with twice-weekly harvests and flexible ordering. Visit our [Restaurant Supply] page or contact us to chat.

❓ Help! My microgreens look a bit wilted. What do I do?

If your greens ever arrive a little tired (rare but can happen in hot weather), just rinse them gently under cold water and pop them in the fridge. They’ll perk back up faster than you after your second coffee.

❓ Are microgreens the same as sprouts?

No—they're cousins, but not twins.
Sprouts are grown in water and eaten seed and all, often while still very young.
Microgreens are grown in soil or compost, and are harvested above the roots once the first real leaves appear. (They’re cleaner, crunchier, and in our opinion, a lot tastier.)

❓ Why are your microgreens better than supermarket greens?

Because ours are actually alive when we harvest them.
We grow to order, harvest fresh, and deliver directly to you.
No sitting in plastic bags for a week in a warehouse. No travel across the country. No sadness.

Just greens that taste like they were meant to.
